Learn from a winner: Michael Vassallo
To see what it takes to win read June’s winning story by Michael Vassallo of Dancker, Sellew and Douglas (DS&D).
Michael wrote about how at first glance it appeared that his Riverbed Steelhead® appliances weren’t helping his network. Then he discovered a different set of data that clearly demonstrated that his Steelhead appliances cut his bandwidth by as much as 98%.
Tips for a good story:
- Good storytellers build tension with conflict and its resolution.
- Include hard data proving your success.
- Tell a visual story with images, screen shots, and graphs. Before-and-after shots tend to work well.
- Share lessons learned so everyone can benefit from your insight.
- Think quality submissions vs. quantity of entries.
- Proof read before you submit!
