Holiday cheer was already lingering at MEC as we held our annual Thanksgiving Dinner last November 20, 2025, at East Ocean Palace in Parañaque City. This year’s celebration was not just a night of appreciation—it was also an opportunity to commemorate our 30th anniversary with our friends in the industry: brands, clients, and customers.
From the word itself, thanksgiving is all about showing appreciation and gratitude. It is a joyous occasion where you want the people you value most to gather and celebrate. Upbeat music, dazzling lights, scrumptious food—you name it. But beyond all these festive elements, the highlight of Thanksgiving is the people who help make and work tirelessly to build the company that is MEC today.
Though the performance came toward the close of the program, it was a moment worth highlighting from the start. Soprano singer-songwriter Lara Maigue and musical actor Gian Magdangal—renowned for their work on both local and international stages—brought captivating energy to the evening. Their presence illuminated the venue, and their heartfelt duet infused the celebration with the warmth and joy that Thanksgiving embodies.
Honoring Partnerships This Thanksgiving
As our President, Merrick Chua, shared in his speech, “Our principals, whom we proudly represent, partners, and customers—your presence this evening reflects the partnership and trust that has sustained MEC for the past 30 years.” This was not just an event but a celebration of the incredible partnerships and mutual trust we have long built and shared. Today, MEC proudly represents globally recognized ICT brands that cater to various business needs. Indeed, we have established a strong circle united by one goal: to drive innovation and progress forward.
“Success may not always be glamorous, but perseverance is quietly powerful.” These words from our Executive Vice President, Maureen Chua, deeply resonated with the entire room. MEC began as a startup founded by two individuals straight out of college—a bold risk fueled by a shared vision to become a strong player in the IT landscape and an unwavering belief that technology would shape the future. As beautifully captured by our Strategic Planning Director, this determination guided MEC to where we are today.
As MEC marks 30 years in the ICT industry, our drive to learn, adapt, and grow with technology remains stronger than ever. As our Risk Management Director said, “Although we may no longer be a startup, we have never lost the spirit of one.”
We continue to work with the same commitment, because at MEC, we always strive to give the best products and service possible.
To 30 Years And Beyond with MEC
This year is truly special for us—30 years filled with achievements and milestones we are immensely proud of.
In his parting statement, our President commended the MEC team, “This achievement belongs to you, for your dedication, resilience, and customer-first spirit.” And indeed, credit is given where credit is due. Our work ethic reflects the way we are led—by leaders who are hardworking, passionate, and a joy to work with.
It was a night full of fun and celebration. This Thanksgiving reminded us that while technology keeps us connected, it is the people behind it who truly make a difference.
