Cat 5e (Category 5 Enhanced) and Cat 6 (Category 6) are currently the most popular types of twisted pair cables today. Both are typically unshielded and use copper wires. Cat 6 cables cost 20-30% more than Cat 5e cables, but with higher bandwidth, faster speed, and less interference, the Cat 6 cable may stand out to some customers.
