Eaton-Huyu Meets the Rising Need for Better Electric Solutions in the Philippines

The Eaton-Huyu brand has been officially launched here in the Philippines for the first time in Southeast Asia.

Eaton-Huyu takes its roots in Huanyu High-tech, which has sprung from the groundbreaking partnership between Eaton and Huanyu Group. This was revealed last year after Eaton’s acquisition of a 50% stake in Huanyu High-tech. Eaton provides power management technologies and services to more than 175 countries. Meanwhile, Huanyu Group is a leading electrical equipment manufacturer in China whose products have been deployed in commercial and residential buildings, power grids, communication technology, transportation, and more. Howard Liu, the president of Eaton Asia-Pacific Region (Electrical Sector and Corporate China), said that this partnership merges the strong product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities of Huanyu High-tech and Eaton’s global scale and access to the broader Southeast Asian market.

The Eaton-Huyu launch in the Philippines marks a milestone for the companies. The brand currently offers a range of low-voltage circuit protection solutions. They have been developed to help enterprises and homes meet the increasing demand for safe, reliable, and efficient power.

Eaton-Huyu's Role in Enhancing the Country's Power Networks

Existing electrical systems that are unable to accommodate increased power demands may heighten the hazard of electrical fires, resulting in significant injury. According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, electrical connection issues are one of the leading causes of fires in Metro Manila. Devices such as Eaton-Huyu’s Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB) and Moulded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB) can help protect power equipment from potentially dangerous scenarios such as overload and short circuits. They also enhance the reliability of the power network. This is especially significant for businesses that rely on a stable source of power, such as network communications, transportation, manufacturing, and construction.

“COVID-19 and recent technological advancements have accelerated digital transformation in many organizations, contributing to higher levels of power consumption. Ensuring power quality and efficiency is a priority for businesses, especially during the dry season,” said Mr. Oliver San Juan, the Sales Director in the Philippines of Eaton East Asia.

“Facilities teams should conduct regular inspections of their power distribution and protection systems,” Mr. San Juan also advised. “Replacing aging components with energy-efficient alternatives will help to lower operational costs and carbon emissions. Organizations who meet their power demands safely and efficiently will be well-equipped to deliver better services, innovate and stay ahead in a smarter future.”

Be Ready for the Future with Eaton-Huyu

According to Mr. Larry Cunanan, MEC’s Vice President of Business Development, “Eaton’s global scale and presence in Southeast Asia and Huanyu High-tech’s strong product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities in China, the availability of ‘Huyu’ brand will allow us to present even greater variety and value to our customers. This aligns very well with our commitment to empowering organizations with future-ready infrastructure and technology tools.”

MEC has included the following solutions in its tech offerings: EXB3 Miniature Circuit Breakers and EXM3 Moulded Case Circuit Breakers. These will be introduced to the rest of the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao regions by June 2022.
